Hanging Summer

Post by Philsyson » December 2nd, 2018, 6:35 am

Love died in his lungs.
Promises cool as cancer shadow
made dust that settled there.
While here her ash and ulcer body
falls into the vacuum
of his final breath.

This sketch of bones
drawn across hurricane fields
in fire grass and carbon sky.
Eternity hangs its art in the echoes
stretching wide-screen across the frame
in the silence and white of gallery halls.

I stand still as a stare
under carbonised trees.
A tear falls in static air
writing a memory.
A living landscape
rendered in surface tension.
Deleted on impact as I blink.

I turn.
Shutting the door
locking it inside my head
a final time.

My eyes burn to memory
the rise of the Sun
The shared secrets and
promises set at it’s fall.

Dizzy and knee deep in death
Tripping from one horizon
to the next.
I'm staring at my hands.
Smiling at the fission I create
In every flex and clench
Release and catch

...i liked it,,,what I got out of this was(and i apologize for being egocentric, was the hell and high water of being a smoker, addicted, wanting to and not wanting to give it up, a tug of war, but it kills you in the end)

Deep, and such a melancholy story told. Well done, and congrats on the spotlight!
