Just A Step

Post by eploscik » October 9th, 2016, 7:36 pm

Should have been more attentive
Instead of being enslaved in self obsession
Follow the gut
Godlike
And try as you might
You'll never have the graceful, powerful presence
No DNA can match such a feat.

One moment that could have been avoided
Now leaves you reeling
Feeling untrustworthy
Everyone held at arms length or more
Even loved ones you question
As to what they have planned for you.

I don't judge a book by its cover
If I did, I would have walked away
But I should have according to your stereotype
See what I got for keeping an open mind?
Just marking time but please don't tell me
Its karma for a past indiscretion
One has to be present to suffer indignation
Yet I will take the blame for failing to recognize your cues.

P-7/11/15.

Sometimes we give too freely of the second chances we never had. Instincts exist for a reason. Cheers Eplo! - Dan

i found most interesting the difference in perspective...so used to writing and reading angst writes from inside the writer...this was different, watching someone else dive into anxiety and experiencing it on their account. me likey

hm im still wondering what sort of moment happened, although it was obviously an unpleasant one. and apparently the person watching feels like it could have been avoided had he gone with his instinct. first impressions are usually right, sad to say.

Hi. Nice write which I enjoyed very much. Love the ambiguity in this piece but I still get the sad outcome. Well done on the spotlight. Great job!
