A Slave's Performance

Post by WriterMinuit » June 6th, 2015, 5:48 pm

You have not altered in your magic ways
From your flawless image that provokes the senses.

Oh dancer! Dance for this hour's burn-
Away it will water, extinguish in turn
And will not come forth again.
Oh dance my memories beyond capabilities
So I may forever remember now.

No, you have not changed...
Only change that now you move
For my audience. Slave of passion:
Dance, you dancer I so love!

You move so lightly as a feather
Would run down a time-struck stream;
Your massless presence glides the stage,
Your lean figure hit not by air-
For leave my dreams to be hit by that-
But wait, forget what we may later forget
And capture your beauty in its staged pleasure.

You hold yourself like a dream,
Your dying body so graceful- yet so thin...
That I could touch your fragile bones
Were you not to break
As I kiss your lean shoulders.
Your neck you hold like a swan's Glory,
Your hair shining in an angel's mould,
Your face as delicate as a balancing hold
On time. Leave unchanged its beautiful lips and breath...
For heart's hopeless sake.

To the dream of a Tchaikovsky melody
Your slender arms of fragility hold,
And your youthful bare hands
Gracefully hold onto passion itself:
You wave a dream across my eyes...
Your vernal eyes tell all a soul's desire...
Your feet as soft they fly silent
To your arm's balance and gently set down
To the floor's silent trance...
I can see your bones move on your chest:
Their motion conducts my heart below
Your gaping lips in your effeminate majesty... Your body...
A nose so perfect my lips on its bridge
Would find you in the dark were you to
Escape the fixated beam.
All eyes are on you:
Slave of desire. Lover of dreams.
Lone dancer on stage...

To imitate you would suck your sweet, sweet blood and life: Your
Solo dance.

You are more vulnerable than any-
Any that imitate your solo dance-
For that to me is Our dance,
Yet I am afraid with the tweeting birds
This night is pronounced dead
Before morning overtakes.
Leave me alive in this night
Where every dancer now sleeps,
Please...for memories' sake.

Oh beautiful dancer, you have revived passions.
You are a dancer for me.
You are captivated to dance as I am to watch...
We are both slaves of Passion.

Impressive work. I checked your profile. If in fact you are only 19 years old, your heart has the maturity of an old soul. Beauty, grace. and passion are not what I have found to be the focus of the young in the USA. You are to be commended for having penned this. I will read this many times. I'm sure I'll discover something new each time. You gave me a gift with this. Thank you.

What a lovely comment. Thank you kindly for that. Unfortunately, the boy to whom this was addressed did not appreciate such passion for him; an old soul is out of touch with the present teenage era, sadly.

A bond shared no doubt between an adoring fan and ballerina, but only from a distance perhaps. Painfully thin and lithe as the dream state you create with such artistry, yet with a palpable longing for that buss on the bridge of her noble nose - cheers for this awesome encore! We are all slaves to something.

Thank you for your kind words. We were lovers once; yet, when I thought I had gotten over them, the ballet performance was like my emotions being drawn back to those times.

Greetings WriterMinuit:

What a heartfelt poem. From the beginning to the end. Heartwarming and emotionally written. The ballerina was graceful and loved, and yet at the end it was only a memory. No wonder you're in the spotlight. It's indeed a masterpiece.
Thanks for sharing

A powerful performance...I'm sure you were mentally exhausted after writing it.
A commendable effort - a worthy spotlight.

You are a poet dancer at heart to be able to describe so beautifully the movements that help to create memorable moments. Congratulations on the TPS Spotlight.

The curse of humanity is we all must dance to the passion of love, even when we try to resist, Josie. Many thanks for your kind words.
