Crusing Down The Highway

Post by treelight » February 3rd, 2015, 6:04 pm

cruising down the highway
with the wind in my hair
cruising down the highway
going to who knows where

I've got the time
to do what I want to do
I've got the wheels
to get me to you
I've got this dream
burning deep inside
I've got to have you
my freedom bride

cruising down the highway
with the wind in my hair
cruising down the highway
going to who knows where

nothing to tie me
in any one place
no obligations
for me to face
no one holding
my personal key
nothing to restrain
my liberty

cruising down the highway
with the wind in my hair
cruising down the highway
going to who knows where

the wide yawning road
is where I belong
the pull of the tar
ever so strong
here I'll stay till
my dying day
biking on down
the emancipation highway

cruising down the highway
with the wind in my hair
cruising down the highway
going to who knows where

I really like the pace to this! The last stanza specifically has a nice flow to it too (not pun intended) and the repetition works really well. Nice job!

There is such a sense of freedom about this piece. I think because of that image -- driving with the windows down and wind in your hair. It's so freeing and relaxing. The quick rhythm of the lyrics added to the feel for me too. This is a well-constructed song. Nice job!

I also liked this a lot,A song writer knows how to work a song to fit his or her style. It is not like a poem rhythmically, and I felt the rush in the words..Well done..Tangie..

Hi. Despite the typo in the title this is a very enjoyable and well written song. Well done on the spotlight
