Woe Unto Marrus/ The Alchemist

Post by Hazel Alder » December 31st, 2014, 2:09 pm

Woe unto Marrus most unholy
The grievous traitor
The cursed foresaker
of Gondershe Castle
and the realm at large
Raised in knowledge
but destined for darkness
Yes, woe unto Marrus.

Some say after his fall
he found refuge
In the deep wood
designing a way
for fate to forestall
and many have have heard
his wild and treacherous call.

It is well known
by nobles and officials
why he suddenly fell.
His deep interest in alchemy
and communion with spirits
granted him the Keys to Hell
Once his eyes drank
this knowledge deep
He fled from our keep
Never to protect again
Yet, we have no knowledge
of when this obsession began.

So, the hunt continues
For the beast
who was once man
Rangers and outriders
hear of rumors
but no one yet knows
where he could've ran

Thus, we now urge townsfolk,
and cit-dwellers as well
to stay in their homes
Until the resolution unfolds

Yes, woe unto Marrus.

Penned,
Leo IX, Head of Magistrate
Ninety First Year, Second Frost, during the 8th Age.

Something ancient and ominous from the pages of an obscure history; born of alchemy and legend perhaps, and ultimately up to no good! An intriguing tale well-told Hazel - cheers and thanks for the warning!

This just sucked me in Hazel,
I'm very impressed with the way it is written....

A fine poem.........Mick.

Wonderful poem. Little typo in verse two with double posting of the word "have" but super write none the less. Well done with this and congratulations on the spotlight.
