Lady R

Post by Mr D » November 2nd, 2014, 2:11 am

She hides behind a coat of blood
She puts a smile to fool her heart
Unsheathes a sword to hate the world
She washes dirt that wont come off

In leather, strapped, her pain is gripped
In feathers, dark, her fate is cawed
Awaiting her at every turn
Will it be today, the end she seeks ?

Heads roll and drink divine reflections
Her hand has learnt beyond perfection
To end the husks that dare take names
In all her hate, she plays a game

She blows the dice the Devil gave her
She kisses six, yet seven saves her
She casts them on her lovers grave
She picks the pain, the blame, the torment
As she lays to sleep on cold stone yet again.

This is surely a very angry lady
for losing her lover !

I enjoyed reading Lady R !

hello Mr. D,

I can't help but wonder what turned her heart to stone! my favorite lines are:

She blows the dice the Devil gave her
She kisses six, yet seven saves her
She casts them on her lovers grave
She picks the pain, the blame, the torment
As she lays to sleep on cold stone yet again.

much enjoyed!
always, Cat

Ty Jim, Mizzy, Cat for taking the time for this
It's quite a straight forward piece, this one

I love this.
To me this represents a girl, whose pain have made her bitter, tormented and cynical.
I love the metaphor of "She washes dirt that wont come off"... To me that dirt represents her cynicism and bitterness towards the world.
Something about these two lines is perfect.
"he blows the dice the Devil gave her
She kisses six, yet seven saves her"
That just flows so well and paints a vivid picture that really brings out the main idea!! You paint the entire message of this poem in seven words: "She kisses six, yet seven saves her". Even the number of words on this sentence (7) cleverly portrays the message...

I like kisses six, yet seven saves her. Awesomely penned, I had to read it twice.

Do you know what I'm thinking? No. Neither do I; Frightening, isn't it?

That's some bad female. I like the way the poem builds to a very forceful ending. The last stanza is terrific.
Great poem!

Strange isn't it that one can like a poem without really understanding what it's trying to say. That's how it is for me this time, but nevertheless I did enjoy reading it. May I suggest she wears a smile in place of
she puts a smile in verse one.
