Cherry Blossom Mountain

Post by RiverRose » March 20th, 2014, 12:56 am

Eh, this will have to do since I can't seem to take a decent picture of this thing. It keeps getting all shiny at the top.

This was mostly a side project for my two bigger paintings.

Wow RiverRose! This painting is realistic and beautiful. I love how the mountain top seems to float above the clouds and the tree in the forefront gives great depth to the painting. It's very, very well done! I also love the blossoms, they look so delicate (as I suppose blossoms are!) Keep it up, I would love to see the others in this series :)

Absolutely gorgeous. I adore your paintings. They are also so real and beautiful. Makes me wish I had a clue about how to paint. Inspiring work.

Ah, this painting makes me *sigh*!
I love cherry trees, they're wonderful on their own magical way, and I think you captured all of that in an elegant piece of art, and I just love the the background, clouds, your striking choice of colours - j'adore ça!
Brilliant work, Katumns! xx

I didn't know it was a painting until I began reading the comments RR. I was pondering the location and the blurred blossoms in the foreground was genius, cheers and congrats!

I usually always feel a bit out of my depth when commenting on paintings, but I think the attention to detail here is excellent, the trees in the foreground are captured with eye-catching precision which is highlighted even more by the colour contrast.
I am envious of your skill, this is a beautiful piece of art.
Congratulations on the spotlight!

Cherry blossoms bloom gorgeously for a week or two and then get blown away in a blizzard of petals. Beauty in one of its most transient forms...
